How the Quiz Works
Three difficulty levels — each covering different types of Morse knowledge.
🟢 Beginner
All 26 letters A–Z, all 10 digits, and 8 punctuation marks. Easy distractors, free hints, animated at 8 WPM. Decode mode only. No timer. Best for new learners.
🟡 Intermediate
Same 44 characters but with confusable-pair distractors (E vs I, K vs C). Adds 4 essential prosigns: AR, SK, BT, KN. Encode mode unlocked. 12 WPM. Hint costs a point.
🔴 Advanced
All 10 prosigns, top 20 Q-codes, and 20 common Morse abbreviations (CQ, DE, 73…). Q-code questions test meaning not pattern. Speed mode unlocked. 15 WPM. No hints.
Decode mode
An animated Morse pattern lights up left to right. Identify the character from 4 options. Tap Replay anytime. Hint button available in Beginner and Intermediate.
Encode mode
A letter or character appears on screen. Choose the correct dot-dash pattern from 4 visual options. Trains active recall — harder than Decode. Unlocks at Intermediate.
Q-code questions
The Q-code abbreviation appears (e.g. QTH). Select its correct meaning from 4 choices. Tests vocabulary — no Morse pattern shown. Only in Advanced level.
Speed mode
Pattern animates once at 15 WPM — then a 10-second countdown begins. No replay, no hints. Unlocks at Advanced difficulty. Simulates real CW operation speed.
Weak spot tracking
Missed characters appear twice as often in future sessions. Results screen shows your top 5 weak spots with their patterns. Stored locally — no account needed.
Keyboard shortcuts
